KITCHENER -- Students in Waterloo Region were able to return to the classroom in early September, with staggered starts across different school boards designed to reduce the number of students learning new protocols at the same time.
According to public health guidance, a school will declare an outbreak if there are two or more cases of COVID-19 with an epidemiological link.
Still, Region of Waterloo Public Health officials have said they will get involved as soon as there's evidence of a single case.

Here are the cases of COVID-19 reported in Waterloo Region schools to date:
May 3: A staff member at the WCDSB Maintenance Centre has tested positive for the disease.
April 27: A student in an WRDSB program tested positive for COVID-19.
April 24: Officials reported a case in a student at Eastwood Collegiate Institute.
April 23: A student at Eastwood Collegiate Institute tested positive for COVID-19.
April 21: A staff member at Tait Street Public School tested positive for COVID-19.
The WCDSB reported a case in a student at St. Kateri CES.
April 19: The WRDSB listed COVID-19 cases in students at Westheights Public School, JF Carmichael Public School, Kitchener-Waterloo Collegiate Institute, Bluevale Collegiate Institute and Glenview Park Secondary School.
April 18: A staff member at Vista Hills Public School tested positive for COVID-19.
April 17: Students at Our Lady of Grace CES and St. Anne CES in Cambridge also have cases of the disease.
April 16: The WRDSB reported students at Silverheights Public School, Bluevale Collegiate Institute, Rosemount Program and Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute have tested positive for COVID-19. Staff at Blair Road Public School and Alpine Public School also reported cases of the disease.
The WCDSB reported cases in students at St. Gabriel CES and St. Benedict CES.
April 15: One student each at Southridge Public School, Queensmount Public School, Grand River Collegiate Institute and Forest Heights Collegiate Institute have tested positive for COVID-19, along with two students at Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute.
The WCDSB also reported a case in a student at St. Gabriel CES.
April 14: One student each at Southwood Secondary School, Jean Steckle Public School, Grand River Collegiate Institute, St. Andrews Public School, Sunnyside Public School, Laurentian Senior Public School and Bluevale Collegiate Institute, along with a staff member at Eastwood Collegiate Institute, have the disease.
April 13: A student at St. Agnes CES and Our Lady of Grace CES have tested positive for COVID-19.
The WRDSB said students at these schools have tested positive for COVID-19:
- Glencairn Public School (one)
- Grand River Collegiate Institute (three)
- Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute (one)
- Grandview (NH) Public School (one)
- Queen Elizabeth Public School (two)
Staff members at the WRDSB Education Centre, Grand River Collegiate Institute and Sir John A. Macdonald also tested positive.
April 12: These public schools reported cases in students:

In the Catholic board, there were cases reported in students at St. John CES and St. Bernadette CES. A staff member at St. Anne CES in Cambridge also tested positive for the disease.
April 11: The WRDSB said two students at Westmount Public School, along with one student each at Huron Heights Secondary School, Doon Public School and JW Gerth Public School had tested positive for COVID-19.
April 10: A student at St. John CES has tested positive for COVID-19.
Students at Huron Heights Secondary School, Wellesley Public School and Highland Public School have confirmed COVID-19 cases, along with a staff member at Highland Public School.
April 9: A student at St. John CES and a staff member at St. Anne CES Cambridge have tested positive for COVID-19.
The WRDSB reported cases in students at Waterloo Collegiate Institute, Coronation Public School and Queen Elizabeth Public School. Staff members at Grandview Public School, Moffat Creek Public School and St. Andrews Public School had also tested positive for the disease.
April 8: Students at Forest Glen Public School, Southridge Public School and Jean Steckle Public School tested positive for COVID-19, along with a staff member at Lincoln Heights Public School.
April 7: The WRDSB said a student at Preston High School, Ayr Public School, Waterloo Collegiate Institute and Glenview Park Secondary School had tested positive for the disease, along with a staff member at Huron Heights Secondary School.
April 6: A student at Eastwood Collegiate Institute and a staff member at Moffatt Creek Public School have tested positive for COVID-19.
The WCDSB also reported a case in a staff member at St. Mary's HS.
April 5: Waterloo Region's public school board said students at Rockway Public School, Ryerson Public School and Waterloo Oxford Secondary School had tested positive for the disease, along with a staff member at Waterloo Oxford Secondary School.
The Catholic board said one student each at St. David CSS, St. Augustine CES, St. Dominic CES and Resurrection CSS had tested for COVID-19. There were also two student cases listed at Holy Rosary CES.
Holy Rosary School has closed April 6 to 9 due to the COVID-19 cases.
April 3: The Catholic school board listed COVID-19 cases in a student at Our Lady of Grace CES and a staff member at St. Dominic CES.
April 2: The WCDSB said students at Holy Rosary CES, St. David CSS, St. Luke CES and Canadian Martyrs CES had all tested positive for COVID-19, along a staff member at St. Bernadette CES and Our Lady of Lourdes CES.
A staff member at Margaret Avenue Senior Public School also tested positive for the disease.
April 1: The WRDSB reported COVID-19 cases in students at Manchester Public School, Smithson Public School and Glenview Park Secondary School.
The Catholic school board also reported a student at Holy Rosary CES had tested positive for the disease.
March 31: Two students at Blair Road Public School and one at Queensmount Public School have tested positive for COVID-19.
The WCDSB also reported student cases at St. Benedict CSS and Holy Spirit CES.
March 30: The Catholic school board reported a new COVID-19 case in a student at St. Peter CES. A staff member at the WRDSB Education Centre has also tested positive for the disease.
March 28: Sandhills Public School reported a COVID-19 case in a student.
The WCDSB reported cases of COVID-19 in students at St. John CES and Holy Rosary CES. Officials also declared an outbreak at Holy Rosary CES.
March 27: Officials reported a COVID-19 case in a student at Mackenzie King Public School and Sheppard Public School. Two students at Queen Elizabeth Public School also tested positive for the disease.
A student at Holy Rosary CES, St. John CES and St. Paul CES tested positive for COVID-19.
March 26: Officials reported students had tested positive at St. John CES and St. Peter CES.
March 25: The Catholic school board listed student cases at Holy Rosary CES, St. Paul CES and St. Anne CES in Cambridge. A staff member at St. Mary's HS also tested positive for COVID-19.
March 24: The WRDSB confirmed cases in students at Queen Elizabeth Public School and Westvale Public School
The WCDSB also reported a case in a student at St. John CES.
March 23: Officials with the WRDSB said a staff member at Crestview Public School had tested positive for the disease. One student each at Woodland Park Public School and Preston Public also have COVID-19. Two students tested positive at Jacob Hespeler Secondary School.
A student at St. Michael CES also tested positive for the disease.
March 22: Officials with the WRDSB reported one student each at Vista Hills Public School, J W Gerth Public School and Tait Street Public School had tested positive for COVID-19.
The WCDSB said a student at St. John CES and St. Anne in Cambridge were confirmed cases of the disease.
March 21: A student at Crestview Public School tested positive for COVID-19. There were also two student cases reported at Manchester Public School.
The Catholic school board reported a student at St. Boniface CES and St. Dominic Savio CES had tested positive for the disease.
March 20: The WCDSB said a staff member at St. Mary's HS and a student at St. Michael CES.
March 19: One student at St. Nicholas CES and St. Agnes CES tested positive for COVID-19.
March 18: The WRDSB reported two cases in students at Vista Hills Public School.
March 17: A student at Parkway Public School tested positive for COVID-19.
The WCDSB also listed cases in students at Resurrection CSS, St. Agnes CES and Canadian Martyrs CES.
March 16: The WRDSB said a student at Southwood Secondary School and Crestview Public School had tested positive for the disease. A staff member at Westvale Public School also tested positive for COVID-19.
March 15: There were cases of the disease reported in students at Silverheights Public Schoo, Huron Heights Secondary School, Vista Hills Public School and Howard Robertson Public School.

The WRDSB said one student each at Keatsway Public School and William G Davis Public School had tested positive for COVID-19.
March 13: A student at St. Teresa CES in Kitchener tested positive for COVID-19, according to the WCDSB.
Officials reported two students at Crestview Public School had tested positive for the disease. An outbreak was also declared in a cohort at the school.
Highland Public School had four students test positive for the disease. There was also a case reported in a student at Galt Collegiate Institute and Waterloo-Oxford District Secondary School.
March 12: An outbreak was declared at Highland Public School after two students in the same cohort tested positive for the disease.
March 11: The WCDSB said two students at St. Nicholas CES had tested positive for the disease.
March 10: Public school board officials reported four more cases of COVID-19 in students: two at Howard Robertson Public School and one each at Sunnyside Public School and John Mahood Public School.
In the Catholic school board, two more students tested positive as well. There was one case at St. Mary's High School and another at St. Augustine CES. A case in a student was listed at John Sweeney CES.
March 9: Officials declared an outbreak at Courtland Avenue Public School after a second student in the same cohort tested positive for COVID-19. The WRDSB also said students at Crestview Public School, Forest Hill Public School and Highland Public School have tested positive for the disease.
The WCDSB said a student at Blessed Sacrament CES had also tested positive for the disease.
March 8: Health officials reported a student at Sunnyside Public School has tested positive for COVID-19. They've also declared an outbreak in a cohort at that school. A student at Huron Heights Secondary School, Sir John A MacDonald Secondary School and Courtland Public School have tested positive for the disease.
March 7: Two students at St. Anne CES tested positive for COVID-19. The WRDSB said one student each at Howard Robertson Public School, Crestview Public School, Preston High School and Elmira District Secondary School have tested positive for COVID-19.
March 6: The Waterloo Catholic District School Board reported four new cases of COVID-19 in students. One was at Blessed Sacrament CES and three were at St. John CES. There were cases confirmed in students at Wilson Avenue Public School, Sunnyside Public School and Crestview Public School. A staff member at Blair Road Public School also tested positive for the disease.
March 5: According to the WRDSB, one student each at Lackner Woods Public School and Sandhills Public School tested positive for COVID-19.
March 4: The WRDSB reported student cases at Keatsway Public School, Elmira District Secondary School (two cases) and Courtland Public School.
March 2: The Catholic school board reported two more student cases: one at St. Mary's High School and one at St. Paul CES.
In the public school board, there were five new student cases:
- Two at Southridge Public School;
- One at Kitchener-Waterloo Collegiate Institute;
- One at Forest Heights Collegiate Institute; and
- One at Moffat Creek Public School
March 1: Five more schools reported COVID-19 cases. There were two more student cases at Howard Robertson Public School and three more student cases at Sunnyside Public School.
The school board also reported one student case each at Courtland Public School and Huron Heights Secondary School. A staff member at Bridgeport Public School also tested positive.
There were also six more student cases at WCDSB schools. At St. John CES, there were three more cases of COVID-19 reported. Two more students at St. Agnes CES also tested positive for the disease, while Resurrection CSS had one new case.
Feb. 28: A student at Grand View Public School tested positive for COVID-19.
In Catholic board schools, two students at Blessed Sacrament CES tested positive for the disease, as did two at St. Agnes CES. Another student at St. John CES also tested positive.
Feb. 27: The public school board reported that one student at each of Hespeler Public School and Sunnyside Public School tested positive for the disease.
Two students at St. John CES also tested positive, the Catholic board's website shows.
Feb. 26: The Catholic school board reported six students at five schools had tested positive for COVID-19. They are:
- Two students at St. John CES;
- One student at St. Paul CES;
- One student at St. Vincent de Paul School;
- One student at Blessed Sacrament CES; and
- One student at Monsignor Doyle CSS.
Feb. 25: Students at St. Mary's H.S., St. Agnes CES and St. John CES have all tested positive for the disease. Health officials have declared an outbreak in a cohort at St. Agnes CES. The school remains open.
A student who was last at AR Kaufman Public School on Feb. 19 has tested positive for COVID-19.
Chicopee Hills Public School is also reporting a case in a student, who was last in class on Feb. 19.
Officials said a student at Hillcrest Public School has also tested positive for the disease. Their last day at school was also Feb. 19.
A student who was last at school on Feb. 10 has tested positive at Sir John A Macdonald Secondary School.
Two students at Westmount Public School have tested positive. They last came to school on Feb. 12. Any high-risk contacts will be notified by public health.
Three more students at Howard Robertson also tested positive.
Feb. 24: A student at Howard Robertson Public School tested positive for COVID-19. This prompted an outbreak at the school after officials learned the case was in the same cohort as a previous case.
Three staff members have also been identified and directed to self-isolate, the school board said.
A student at Riverside Public School also tested positive for the disease.
A student at St. Agnes CES and St. John CES also tested positive for the disease.
Feb. 23: The WCDSB said a student and staff member at St. John Catholic Elementary School tested positive for the disease.
A student and staff member at Monsignor Doyle Catholic Secondary School have also tested positive for COVID-19.
A staff member at Grand River Collegiate Institute tested positive for the disease. Officials said they were last at school on Feb. 19. High-risk contacts are self-isolating.
Feb. 22: Two students at St. John CES tested positive for COVID-19.
A student at St. Agnes CES tested positive for the disease.
A student at Sir John A Macdonald Secondary School tested positive for COVID-19.
Feb. 21: A staff member at St. Elizabeth CES tested positive for COVID-19.
Feb. 21: Officials said a staff member at Sir John A. Macdonald School, last in class on Feb. 17, has tested positive for COVID-19. Two students last in class on Feb. 18 also tested positive for the disease.
A student at Brigadoon Public School tested positive for the disease.
A student at Moffatt Creek Public School, who was last at school on Feb. 17, has tested positive for COVID-19.
A staff member at Bluevale Collegiate Institute has tested positive for COVID-19. They were last at school on Feb. 18.
All high-risk contacts in the schools have been told to self-isolate.
Feb. 20: The Catholic school board reported four cases of COVID-19 in its schools. Three students--one each at Monsignor Doyle CSS, St. Agnes CES and St. John CES--tested positive, as did a staff member at St. Gregory CES.
Feb. 19: Officials say a student at Howard Roberston Public School has tested positive for COVID-19. The student was last at the school on Feb. 12 and some students and staff are self-isolating as a result.
Another case in a student was reported at Resurrection Catholic Secondary School.
Feb. 18: A student at Southridge Public School has tested positive for COVID-19. Officials say they were last at school on Feb. 12. Some staff members and students are self-isolating as a result.
There was also a case in a student reported at Resurrection Catholic Secondary School.
Feb. 16: Officials said a student at AR Kaufman Public School has tested positive for COVID-19. They were last at school before the winter break and there are no high-risk contacts in the school.
A student at Tait Street Public School has also tested positive for the disease. They were last at school on Feb. 9. Officials said there are no high-risk contacts at the school.
A staff member at Père-René-de-Galinée Catholic High School has tested positive for the disease and officials said it was screened positive for a variant of concern.
Feb. 15: Two more students--one each at Centennial Public School in Waterloo and Lackner Woods Public School--tested positive for COVID-19.
Feb. 13: The Waterloo Region District School Board reported three more cases of COVID-19 in students. There was one each at Clemens Mill Public School, Hespeler Public School and AR Kaufman Public School.
Officials also reported a case in a staff member at Suddaby Public School.
Feb. 12: A second student at Forest Heights Collegiate, who was also last in school before the holidays, tested positive. Officials also said there were no high-risk contacts associated with that case.
Another student, this one at Southridge Public School, also tested positive for COVID-19.
Feb. 11: A student who last at Forest Heights Collegiate Institute before the winter break has tested positive for COVID-19. There are no high-risk contacts in the school setting.
There was also a case identified at Forest Glen Public School in a student and at Westvale Public School in a student.
The school board also declared an outbreak at a WRDSB site after two staff members tested positive for the disease. They say it's not a school-wide outbreak.
Feb. 9: Officials with the WRDSB said a student at W.T. Townshend Public School has tested positive for COVID-19. They were last at school on Feb. 8. Some staff members and students are isolating as a result.
A staff member at Tait Street Public School also tested positive for the disease and was last at the school on Feb. 8. Some staff members and students have been identified as high-risk contacts have are self-isolating.
Jan. 30: Region of Waterloo Public Health officials listed an outbreak in WCDSB programs. There are six cases associated with multiple cohorts, according to the region's dashboard.
Jan. 3: WRDSB has reported several cases in students. There is a positive COVID-19 case in one student at: Laurelwood Public School, Sir John. A Macdonald Public School, Suddaby Public School, Hillcrest Public School, Jacob Hespeler Secondary School, MacGregor Public School, and Kitchener-Waterloo Collegiate Institute.
Likewise, there are two new COVID cases in students at: Grand River Collegiate Institute, Floradale Public School, and NA MacEachern Public School.
Jan. 2: Region of Waterloo Public Health declares outbreaks over at seven schools: two at Franklin Public School, two at St. Dominic Savio CES and one each at Country Hills PS, Bluevale Collegiate Institute and Saint Andrew's PS.
WRDSB reported a positive COVID-19 test in a student at NA MacEachern Public School.
Dec. 31: COVID-19 outbreaks were declared in cohorts at St. Dominic Savio Catholic School and Franklin Public School.
A staff member at Elmira District Seconday School tested positive for COVID-19, as did students at St. Andrew's Public School, Bluevale Collegiate Institute, Lester B Pearson Public School, Margaret Avenue Public School and Doon Public School.
Dec. 30: Three students at St. Dominic Savio CES tested positive for COVID-19. The WRDSB also saw three more cases in students, one each at Jean Steckle Public Schoo, Franklin Public School and St. Andrew's Public School.
Dec. 29: Officials declared an outbreak at Country Hills Public School after another staff member tested positive in a cohort where a case was identified on Dec. 22.
Dec. 28: The Catholic school board reported a case in a student at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Elementary School and St. John Catholic Elementary School.
Dec. 27: Riverside Public School, Forest Heights Collegiate Institute, Wilson Avenue Public School, and the WRDSB Education Centre have each identified a positve case of COVID-19 in a staff member.
At Eastwood Collegiate Institute, one student has tested positive for COVID-19.
Dec. 26: A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at Franklin Public School after a student, who was a cohort of another student who tested positive earlier this week, also tested positive. This is not considered a school-wide outbreak and one other student has been asked to self-isolate.
Margaret Avenue Public School and John Mahood Public School each have a new case identified in a student, while a staff member at Glencairn Public School has also tested positive for COVID-19.
Dec. 24: A student who was last in the building on Dec. 16 has tested positive for COVID-19 at Bluevale Collegiate Institute. Some staff members and students now need to self-isolate.
A student at Grand River Collegiate Institute also tested positive for COVID-19. They were last at school on Dec. 18 and some staff and students are self-isolating.
Dec. 23: Officials say a student at St. Matthew Catholic Elementary School and a staff member at St. Benedict Catholic Secondary School have tested positive for COVID-19.
Dec. 22: Officials say a staff member at Forest Heights Public School. The staff member was last in school on Dec. 11 and there are no high-risk contacts in the school.
A student at Clemens Mill Public School has also tested positive for the disease. They were last at school on Dec. 16 and there are no high-risk contacts in the school.
Officials also reported a case in a student at Franklin Public School. They were last in the building on Dec. 17 and some staff and students have been told to self-isolate.
A student at Sir John A. Macdonald also tested positive for COVID-19, as did a staff member at Country Hills Public School.
The Catholic school board also reported that a student at St. Margaret of Scotland CES tested postive.
Dec. 21:
Four students--two at Resurrection CSS and two at John Sweeny CES--tested positive for COVID-19 on Dec. 21, the Catholic school board's website said.
A staff member at Chicopee Hills Public School has tested positive for COVID-19. That staff member was last at school on Dec. 11 and there are no high-risk contacts in the school.
A staff member at Lincoln Heights Public School tested positive for COVID-19. Officials said the case is in connection to the outbreak declared in a cohort on Dec. 20.
A staff member at Sheppard Public School tested positive for COVID-19. They were last in school on Dec. 9. There are no high-risk contacts in the school, officials said.
A student at Wilson Avenue Public School tested positive for COVID-19. They were last at school on Dec. 9 and some staff and students have been told to self-isolate.
Dec. 20: The public school board reported that two more staff members and three more students had tested positive.
There was one staff case at both Westmount Public School and Avenue Road Public School.
A student at Lincoln Heights Public School also tested positive, prompting the declaration of an outbreak at the school, as did a student at Cedar Creek Public School and one at Stanley Park Senior Public School.
A student at St. Dominic Savio also tested positive for COVID-19 on Dec. 20.
Dec. 19: Three students in the region--one at Waterloo-Oxford District Secondary School, one at Jacob Hespeler Secondary School and one at Cedar Creek Public School--tested positive for COVID-19.
Dec. 18: A student at Cameron Height Collegiate Institute tested positive for COVID-19. That student was last at school on Dec. 11. Some students and staff have been told to self-isolate as a result.
Some staff and students at Franklin Public School have also been told to self-isolate after a student there tested positive for the disease. The student was last at school on Dec. 16.
A student at Hillcrest Public School tested positive for COVID-19. Officials said the student was last at school on Dec. 15. Some staff and students have been identified as high-risk contacts and have been told to self-isolate.
A student at Galt Collegiate Institute has also tested positive for the disease. That student was last at school on Dec. 16. Some staff and students have been told to self-isolate.
A student at Southwood Secondary School also tested positive for COVID-19.

Dec. 17: Public health declared an outbreak in a cohort at Hillcrest Public School after a staff member and student in the same cohort tested positive for the disease.
A student at Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute, who was last at school on Dec. 9, has tested positive for COVID-19. Officials say there are no high-risk contacts in the school.
A COVID-19 case has been confirmed in a staff member at St. John’s Catholic Elementary School in Kitchener. Public Health has identified one classroom of high-risk contacts who are required to self-isolate at home.
Dec. 16: Officials say a student at Elmira District Secondary School has tested positive for COVID-19. They were last in the school on Dec. 9 and there are no high-risk contacts in the school.
A student at Jacob Hespeler Secondary School, who was last in the building on Dec. 15, has tested positive for COVID-19. Some staff members, a classroom and some transportation students have been told to self-isolate.
A bus cohort, a student cohort and some staff members are self-isolating after a case in a student at Laurentian Public School. That student was last at school on Dec. 11.
A student at Galt Collegiate Institute has tested positive for COVID-19. The student was last at school on Dec. 9. A staff member, a classroom and some transportation students have been told to self-isolate.
Two students at Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute, who were last at school on Dec. 11, have tested positive for COVID-19. Two student cohorts, a bus cohort and some staff members are now self-isolating.
The same day, the Catholic school board also reported two more cases in students. One was at John Sweeney CES, while the other was at St. Vincent de Paul CES.
Dec. 15: The Waterloo Catholic District School Board reported another case of COVID-19 in a student, this time at St. Daniel Catholic Elementary School.
Officials with the public school board say a student has tested positive for COVID-19 at A R Kaufman Public School. They were last at school on Dec. 7, and there are no high-risk contacts in the school.
A student cohort and a staff member have been told to self-isolate after a student at Meadowlane Public School tested positive for COVID-19. The student was last in class on Dec. 8.
A student at Forest Heights Collegiate Institute has tested positive for COVID-19, officials say. The student hasn't been to school since Dec. 2 and there are no high-risk contacts.
There were also two cases identified in students at Sandhills Public School. Officials say they haven't been in class since Dec. 4 and there are no high-risk contacts at that school.
A student cohort at Lincoln Heights Public School is self-isolating after a student tested positive for COVID-19. That student was last in the building on Dec. 11. Some staff members have also been told to self-isolate.
Officials have declared an outbreak at Cedar Creek Public School after two students in the same cohort tested positive for the disease.
Dec. 14: Officials say a student at Brigadoon Public School has tested positive for COVID-19. The student was last at school on Dec. 7. A staff member, a student cohort and some transportation students are now self-isolating.
The Waterloo Catholic District School Board also reported another case in a student, this time at Resurrection Catholic Secondary School.

In Cambridge, Hillcrest Public School is reporting their first case in a student, while three more students have tested positive for COVID-19 at Clemens Mill Public School.
The Catholic school board also reported three more COVID-19 cases in students. Two of them at John Sweeney CES tested positive, as did another student at St. Vincent de Paul CES.
Dec. 12: A student at Silverheights Public School has tested positive for COVID-19, while a staff member was confirmed to have tested positive for COVID-19 at Cedar Creek Public School.
Dec. 11: Another student at Southwood Secondary School tested positive for COVID-19. It's the fifth case that the school has seen to date.
Eastwood Collegiate Institute, Chicopee Hills Public School, John Sweeney Catholic School, Ryerson Public School, Galt Collegiate Institute, and Floradale Public School are all reporting one student each who has tested positive for COVID-19.
Dec. 10: Region of Waterloo Public Health says a student at Kitchener’s J F Carmichael Public School, last in the building on November 30, has tested positive for COVID-19. A student at Cedar Creek Public School also tested positive.
The Catholic school board also reported two more cases of COVID-19, both in students. One attended St. Benedict Catholic Secondary School, while the other was a student at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Elementary School.
Dec. 9: Officials say a student at Jacob Hespeler Secondary School has tested positive for COVID-19. The student was last at school on Dec. 2 and there were no-high risk contacts identified in the school.
Dec. 8: Regional health officials say another student at Linwood Public School has tested positive for COVID-19. They were last at school at Nov. 24 and there were no high-risk contacts in the school. Public health decided to close the school on Dec. 4 due to community transmission, and the school board said testing is available to all students.
Officials also say a student at Jacob Hespeler Secondary School has tested positive for COVID-19. The student was last at school on Dec. 4. A classroom, a staff member and some transportation students have been asked to self-isolate.
Two student cohorts are self-isolating after a student at Meadowlane Public School tested positive for COVID-19. The student was last at school on Dec. 8. Some staff members are also self-isolating.
There were also two cases reported in students at Monsignor Doyle Catholic Secondary School. One of them was linked to a case reported back on Dec. 2, school board officials said, prompting an outbreak to be declared at the school.
Two students at St. Gabriel CES also tested positive for COVID-19, as did a staff member at St. Brigid CES.
Dec. 7: Officials have identified another COVID-19 case in a student at Linwood Public School. It's the fifth student to test positive in the past five days. The school was closed for two weeks on Friday as a result of community spread. The student was last at school on Nov. 27 and there are no high-risk contacts in the school.

A student at Grand River Collegiate Institute, who was last at school on Nov. 25, has tested positive for COVID-19. Officials say there are no high-risk contacts in the school.

A student at Elgin Street Public School tested positive for COVID-19. They were last in class on Nov. 29 and there are no high-risk contacts in the school.
In the Catholic school board, there were two new cases of COVID-19, both in staff members. One was at Monsignor Doyle CSS, while the other was reported at Our Lady of Lourdes CES.
Dec 6: Public health has declared a COVID-19 cohort outbreak at Franklin Public School. They say another case in a student is in the same cohort as the case reported earlier this week. Some additional high-risk contacts have been identified and will be contacted.
Outbreaks at St. Bernadette Catholic Elementary School and at William G. Davis Public School have been declared over.
Four students are now listed as positive COVID-19 cases at Linwood Public School, which has been shut down for at least two weeks.

Three other schools--Galt Collegiate Institute, William G Davis Public School and Riverside Public School--reported another case of COVID-19 in students. One staff member at Eastwood Collegiate Institute also tested positive.
An outbreak was declared at William G Davis Public School in Cambridge after two positive COVID-19 tests were linked.
The Catholic school board also reported several cases of COVID-19: three more were reported in students at St. Bernadette CES, while St. Mary's High School and St. Michael Catholic Elementary School each reported one more case in a student.

The Catholic school board also reported four new cases of the disease on Nov. 25. A student at St. Matthew CES, a staff member at St. Anne Catholic School in Kitchener and one of each at St. Bernadette were listed on the board's website.
Nov. 24: Health officials have identified a COVID-19 case in a student at Jean Steckle Public School. They were last at school on Nov. 19. High-contacts, concluding some staff members and a student cohort, have been told to self-isolate.
Officials also said a student at Preston High School had tested positive for the disease. They were last at school on Nov. 10 and there were no high-risk contacts at the school.
Officials reported a case in a student at Kitchener-Waterloo Collegiate and Vocational School. They were last at school on Nov. 20. Officials say a staff member, a bus cohort and a student cohort have been directed to self-isolate.
A student at Janet Metcalfe Public School has also tested positive for the disease and was last in the building on Nov. 20. Some staff members and a student cohort now need to self-isolate.
Nov. 23: A staff member at Woodland Park Public School has tested positive for COVID-19, according to health officials. There were no high-risk contacts in the school and the staff member was last in the building on Nov. 18.
Officials confirmed a case in a student at Preston Public School, who was last at school on Nov. 16. There are no high-risk contacts in the school, public health said in a news release.
Health officials also confirmed COVID-19 cases in three students at Floradale Public School. They were last in school on Nov. 13. Officials said there were no high-risk contacts in the school.
A student at Clemens Mill Public School also tested positive for the disease and was last at school on Nov. 13. Health officials have identified all high-risk contacts in staff and a student cohort, who have been directed to self-isolate.
A staff member at Alpine Public School has tested positive for the disease and was last at school on Nov. 20. Health officials have identified some staff members as high-risk contacts, but no students have been dismissed.
A staff member at St. Bernadette Catholic School also tested positive for COVID-19, officials reported on Nov. 23.
Nov. 22: A COVID-19 outbreak was declared at Centennial Public School after two students tested positive. Their tests come after a staff member had gone to school while infectious and awaiting test results.
A case has been reported at St. Michael Catholic Elementary School in Cambridge. According to the school, public health has identified one classroom of high-risk contacts. Those individuals are required to self-isolate at home.
Nov. 21: A student at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19. This comes after an outbreak was declared at the school on Nov. 17. There are two cases listed at the school, according to Region of Waterloo Public Health.
The WRDSB reported that a student at William G. Davis Public School has tested positive for COVID-19.
Nov. 20: Public health officials confirmed a COVID-19 case in a student at Sir Adam Beck Public School, who was last in the building on Nov. 16. Officials also said another student, who was last at school on Nov. 17, is presumed positive. Any high-risk contacts are asked to self-isolate until Dec. 1 or 2.
The WRDSB reported that one staff member at Southwood Secondary School had tested positive on Nov. 20. It's the second case that's been reported this month at the Cambridge school.
Nov. 19: Public health officials confirmed two COVID-19 cases in students at Stewart Avenue Public School. The school board said the students were last at school on Nov. 9. There are no high-risk contacts at the school and no staff or students need to self-isolate, officials said.
Nov. 18: Catholic school board officials reported one case of COVID-19 in a staff member at John Sweeney Catholic School. It was the first case reported there to date.
Nov. 17: Health officials reported a student at MacGregor Public School has tested positive for COVID-19. They were last at school on Nov. 13, and all high-risk contacts are asked to self-isolate until Nov. 30.
There was also a positive case in a student at Elmira District Secondary School who was last in the building on Nov. 6. There were no high-risk contacts identified at the school, officials said.
A staff member at Centennial Public School in Waterloo tested positive for COVID-19 and was last at school on Nov. 17.
High-risk contacts, including staff members and student cohorts, should self-isolate until Dec. 2.
The WCDSB is reporting a case in a staff member at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Elementary School.
Nov. 16: Public health officials confirmed a COVID-19 case in a student at Waterloo Collegiate Institute, who was last in the building on Nov. 10. High-risk contacts are asked to self-isolate until Nov. 25.
Health officials also confirmed a case in a student at Westvale Public School. They were last in the building on Nov. 6. Officials say there were no high-risk contacts in the school, meaning no staff or students will need to self-isolate.
There were also two other COVID-19 cases reported in Catholic elementary schools. Our Lady of Grace reported a new case in a staff member, while St. Daniel CES reported one case in a student.
Nov. 15: The Waterloo Region District School Board said that one staff member at Sir Adam Beck Public School had tested positive for COVID-19. The Catholic school board also reported a case in a staff member at St. Mark Catholic Elementary School.
Nov. 14: The outbreak at Avenue Road Public School in Cambridge was declared over.
A positive test for COVID-19 was confirmed in a student at St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Elementary School in Cambridge.
Nov. 13: The WRDSB said a staff member at Elgin Street Public School had tested positive for COVID-19. They were last at school on Nov. 9. Any high-risk contacts are asked to self-isolate until Nov. 24.
Officials also reported a case in a staff member at Mary Johnston Public School. That staff member was last at school on Nov. 6. Public health says there were no high-risk contacts at the school, because there was no exposure to other staff or students during the infectious period.

The WCDSB also reported a case of COVID-19 in a student at St. Benedict CSS, and another case in a student at Our Lady of Grace CES.

Health officials said anyone identified as a close contact should self-isolate until Nov. 16.
Nov. 2: The Catholic school board reported one case of COVID-19 in a student at St. Dominic Savio Catholic School on Nov. 2. It was the 11th case of COVID-19 reported in a Catholic school in the last month.
Nov. 1: Two more students in WRDSB schools tested positive for COVID-19, the school board confirms. Queensmount Public School and Huron Heights Secondary School both reported that one student had contracted the disease.
On the same day, the Waterloo Catholic District School Board also reported another case of COVID-19 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Elementary School, the second in a staff member. It's not known if the latest case is related to the ongoing outbreak or not. Our Lady of Grace has had a total of four cases to date: two in students and two in staff.
Oct. 31: WRDSB has confirmed cases at two of its schools: one in a student at Manchester Public School and another in a student at Avenue Road Public School.
Oct. 30: Public Health has COVID-19 declared outbreaks at Holy Spirit Catholic Elementary School in Cambridge.
Oct. 29: Region of Waterloo Public Health declared an outbreak at an Catholic elementary school in Kitchener. The outbreak at Our Lady of Grace CES was declared after two more cases in the same cohort as the case that was identifed on Oct. 23.
Public health officials also identified a staff member with COVID-19 at Lexington Public School. The staff member was last at the school on Oct. 26.
All high-risk contacts should self-isolate on Nov. 9.
Oct. 26: The Waterloo Catholic District School Board reported two more cases of COVID-19 at its schools: one in a student at Holy Spirit Catholic Elementary School, and another at St. David Catholic Secondary School.
Oct. 25: Public health officials were notified about a case of COVID-19 in a staff member at Our Lady of Grace School on Oct. 25.
Oct. 24: Waterloo Catholic District School Board confirmed a student at Saint John Paul II Catholic Elementary School tested positive for COVID-19. They say proper protocol is in place and staff and students can expect to return to school on Monday.
Oct. 23: The WRDSB reported a COVID-19 case in a student at Janet Metcalfe Public School. The student was last at school on Oct. 20. All high-risk contacts from their cohort should self-isolate until Nov. 3.

Oct. 19: Public officials said a student at Galt Collegiate Institute has tested positive for COVID-19. That student was last at school on Oct. 13. All high-risk contacts in the identified cohort should self-isolate until Oct. 27, health officials say.
Oct. 18: A student at Resurrection Catholic Secondary School tested positive for COVID-19. According to the Waterloo Catholic District School Board, the student was last in the building on Oct. 8, and all high-risk contacts have been contacted. The Waterloo Region District School Board reported a case of COVID-19 in a student at Westmount Public School in Kitchener.
Oct. 15: Keats Way Public School announced that one of its students had tested positive for COVID-19. The school said that the student hadn't been at school since Oct. 2, and that public health had identified no high-risk contacts.
There was also a COVID-19 case confirmed in a student at Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute. The WRDSB said the student was last in the building on Oct. 14. All high-risk contacts in the identified cohort have been contacted and should self-isolate until Oct. 28.
Oct. 14: The Waterloo Region District School Board reported a case of COVID-19 in a student who goes to Elmira District Secondary School. The student was last in the builindg on Oct. 7. High-risk contacts have been dismissed and asked to self-isolate until Oct. 21.
Oct. 13: Officials with the Waterloo Catholic District School Board reported two cases of COVID-19 at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Elementary School.
Public health officials also confirmed a student at Waterloo Collegiate Institute. The student was last at school on Oct. 8, the WRDSB said. High-risk contacts from the identified cohort should self-isolate until Oct. 22.
Later on in the day, officials reported a case at Groh Public School in Kitchener. In that case, the infected student had not been in the school since Oct. 9. Those from their cohort considered high-risk are advised to self-isolate until Oct. 23.
Oct. 10: An outbreak has been declared at JF Carmichael Public School in Kitchener after two students tested positive for COVID-19. The outbreak was declared over on Oct. 16.
Oct. 8: A student at Waterloo Collegiate Institute has tested positive for COVID-19. The WRDSB said the student hasn't been in the building since Oct. 2. High-risk contacts in the identified cohort should self-isolate until Oct. 16.
Oct. 6: The WRDSB said a student at Eastwood Collegiate Institute has tested positive for COVID-19. The student was last in the school on Sept. 28. Public health officials said all high-risk contacts in the student's cohort should self-isolate until Oct. 12.
Health officials also reported another case at Huron Heights Secondary School. This is the fifth student who has tested positive at the school to date, but there is no epidemiological link between the cases, according to public health officials.
Oct. 5: Another student has tested positive for COVID-19 at Huron Heights Secondary School. The student was last in the building on Sept. 25 and there are no high-risk contacts identified inside the school.
It's the fourth COVID-19 case to date at the school. Public health has not declared an outbreak. A spokesperson for the WRDSB said there is no epidemiological link between any of the cases.
Oct 3: Two cases have been reported at French Catholic school École élémentaire catholique Cardinal-Léger in Kitchener and an outbreak has been declared.
The COVID-19 outbreak at Kitchener Collegiate Institute has been declared over.
Oct. 2: Public health officials confirmed a student at Huron Heights Secondary School had tested positive for COVID-19 and was last in the building on Sept. 18. Public health officials said a cohort was potentially exposed to the case during the infectious 14-day period, but because it was only told of the case recently, no further isolation is required. Officials will be calling families of students in the identified cohort to follow up.
This is the third student reported at the school so far with a COVID-19 case. The first was reported on Sept. 21 and the second on Oct. 1. Region of Waterloo has not declared an outbreak at the school.

The WRDSB said the identified cohort and some other staff members have been told to self-isolate by public health. The staff member hasn't been at the school since Sept. 25. Public health will contact any close contacts.
Sept. 25: Public health officials declared a COVID-19 outbreak at Kitchener-Waterloo Collegiate and Vocational School after a staff member tested positive for the disease. The WRDSB said the staff member was in the same cohort as the student who had a confirmed case earlier in the week. The school will remain open.
Sept. 23: A student at St. David Catholic Secondary School tested positive for COVID-19. The Waterloo Region District Board also reported another case of COVID-19, this time at Kitchener-Waterloo Collegiate and Vocational School.
Sept. 22: Two students at Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute have tested positive for COVID-19. The school board said they haven't been in the school since Sept. 16 and there are no high-risk cases in the school.
There was also a confirmed case announced at Forest Hill Public School. There are no high-risk school contacts associated with that case, and the student hadn't been at school since Sept. 14.

Sept. 20: The Waterloo Region District School Board reported its first student case of COVID-19, with a positive case identified in a child at Riverside Public School.
Sept. 16: A kindergarten student at St. Anne Catholic Elementary School in Cambridge tested positive for the disease, forcing the entire class to self-isolate and get tested. Chantele Ristovksi says her daughter, five-year-old Olivia, was in the class where the infection was discovered.
Sept. 6: Before schools had even reopened, a staff member at Waterloo's Edna Staebler Public School tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The Waterloo Region District School Board said the school was closed for extensive cleaning before reopening after the Labour Day long weekend.
