When discussions for Waterloo Region’s light rail transit system began in 2002, Paul Martin was our prime minister. Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo were led by mayors Doug Craig, Carl Zehr and Herbert Epp, respectively.
Nickelback's “How You Remind Me” was number one on Billboard’s Top 100 songs. Things have clearly changed.
Now, 17 years after those first discussions about rapid transit, the region is finally ready to take its first ride on the ION.
