Guelph Police say they’ve laid charges against five people who were offering rides through Uber.
Guelph has three licensed taxi companies.
According to police, those three companies are the only organizations allowed to offer transportation in exchange for money.
Police say they began an “enforcement initiative” against people offering paid transportation without licences on Saturday, which led to the charges.
All five drivers will appear in court next month.
