Is Uber still the hottest thing since sliced bread?
Hardly, says the president of Waterloo Taxi – not now that his company’s app is on the streets.
“Any good company will meet their competition head-on,” Peter Neufeld said in an interview.
Neufeld calls the Waterloo Taxi app “an improved version” of Uber, in part because it launched Tuesday while Uber’s first app was created in 2009.
While Uber requires users to pay drivers via credit card, Waterloo Taxi accepts other payment methods as well.
The Waterloo Taxi app was three years in the making and cost the company $14,000 to develop, Neufeld said.
