A Kitchener man is charged with sexual assault after an incident at a Cambridge home.

Waterloo Regional Police say the charge is in relation to an incident on July 17, after a Cambridge woman used an online coupon to purchase a massage service.

The alleged offender was employed at the time by a Toronto-based massage service company that regularly performed in-home massages in Waterloo Region.

“The masseuse arrived at her home for the massage therapy session, and the victim alleges that during that massage therapy session, she was sexually assaulted,” says police spokesperson Olaf Heinzel.

Police say the man has placed advertisements on various websites, offering non-registered massage therapy and osteopathy massages.

Lachhman Das, 51, was arrested Wednesday and held in custody for a show cause hearing.

Police say the victim was not physically injured in the incident.

“We would encourage anyone who has purchased an in-home massage, if something occurred during the massage and has not been reported, to contact police,” says Heinzel.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 519-650-8500 ext. 8674 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
