An 18-year-old woman is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after an altercation at a Kitchener motel on Victoria Street.
Police say she was attacked by a man with an edged weapon and had to undergo emergency surgery due to the extent of her injuries.
The incident happened about 2 p.m. Friday afternoon.
A 23-year-old male was arrested and is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and breach of probation.
The investigation continues.
