Kitchener's Mandy Bujold has won her seventh career Canadian Boxing title.

She was in the ring last night at the national championships in Sydney, Nova Scotia and won her semi-final bout over Quebec's Andree Beauchesne when the referee stopped the match in the second round.

This morning, Bujold's opponent for tonight's Gold Medal fight failed her physical. Because of an eye injury to Amanda Galle, Bujold wins the 51-kilogram title by default.

The Waterloo Regional Boxing Academy fighter now begins her preparations for the World Championships in May. A top-eight finish in Beijing will qualify Bujold for the Olympic Games, beginning in London, England on July 27th.
