One day after putting out a call for public help in connection with an unusual theft, Waterloo Regional Police say they’ve made an arrest.
In February, An Te Liu’s sculpture Eidolon I-I was stolen from the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery.
Police said one man walked into the gallery, grabbed the statue, put it in a plastic bag and walked away.
A 61-year-old man from Kitchener now faces a charge of theft over $5,000.
Police say they have not found the sculpture itself.
