Waterloo Regional Police are investigating the theft of a sculpture from the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery.

The theft occurred in February, but wasn’t made public until Wednesday.

The sculpture is called Eidolon I-I, measures 10 cm by 7 cm by 15 cm, is green and was created by An Te Liu.

Police say they suspect it was stolen by a white man who was captured on surveillance footage.

The man is believed to be in his mid-50s. Police say he has long hair, a dark moustache and a thin, grey beard, and was wearing a brown leather jacket, a white shirt and black jogging pants.
