A street in downtown Kitchener was flooded out Tuesday morning following a water main break.

The break was reported around 8:30 a.m., near King and Cedar streets.

It sent water across a section of Cedar, and onto part of King.

Kitchener Utilities shut off water to properties along Cedar between Church and Charles streets as it repaired the break.

Properties between Charles and King were not affected, Kitchener Utilities said.

The break was caused by heavy equipment being used in LRT construction.

A spokesperson for GrandLinq, which manages LRT construction, said water would likely be restored by early Tuesday evening.
