Police in London say they’ve found some of the keepsakes stolen from the family of a newborn killed in a crash.

The crash occurred earlier this month in Wingham, killing young Sawyer Benninger.

Last week, while a vehicle belonging to the Benninger family was parked outside a London hotel, somebody broke into it and stole a number of items.

Among those items were an oak box containing mementos from Sawyer Benninger’s life, including a lock of his hair, a moulding of his feet, a baby blanket and a hat.

Some of the items – although not the box or its contents – were found in another vehicle last Thursday, as two London residents were arrested on an unrelated matter.

The following day, London Police executed a search warrant at a home in the city, where they found the box and some of its contents.

Two London residents – 32-year-old Mark Barton and 34-year-old Amanda Fordham – faces charges of possession of property obtained by crime and possession of a controlled substance.

Barton faces a number of other charges, including theft and mischief.

A number of items remain unaccounted for, police say, including the lock of hair, the clay foot mouldings, a CD of baby pictures and a card containing the baby’s name and date of death.
