A pickup truck that crashed into a Milverton bakery was stolen hours earlier, police say.
According to Perth County OPP, a red Chevrolet Silverado was parked in front of a residence on John Street in Milverton early Friday evening.
While the driver was inside, the truck was broken into and driven away.
Hours later, shortly before midnight, police were called to a collision near the intersection of Main and Fulton streets.
Arriving at the scene, officers found that the Silverado had driven into the back of Guenther’s Bakery.
Whoever was driving the car had already left the scene, and a search of the area did not turn up any suspects.
Police say the truck and bakery both suffered significant damge.
