The Beer Store is adding online ordering to its stores, and Kitchener-Waterloo is ground zero.
As of Wednesday, the ‘Beer Xpress’ online ordering system is available at every The Beer Store location in the two cities.
According to the retailer, that makes it the first community in Ontario to see a full rollout of the system.
“We know the residents of Kitchener-Waterloo are tech-savvy early adopters and so we deliberately focused on this region,” The Beer Store vice-president Andrea Randolph said in a news release.
The first Beer Xpress trials started in 2015, but the service had yet to roll out to any entire cities the way it now has with Kitchener and Waterloo.
All local stores have designated pickup areas for Beer Xpress separate from the usual lines for shoppers.
