A Brantford man was placed under arrest after allegedly threatening people with two different makeshift weapons in two different locations.

Brantford Police say the first threats were made around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, after a man used a steel chair to smash a window at Brantford General Hospital.

The man allegedly picked up a piece of the smashed glass and made threats to hospital staff members.

Police say he then left the hospital, grabbed a golf club and approached a vehicle – brandishing the club and demanding that the people inside give him a ride.

The vehicle drove away, and the man was soon taken into police custody.

A 37-year-old Brantford man is charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats and mischief.
