The case of a Hamilton woman missing for the past decade is now being treated as a homicide.

Nuseiba Hasan is described as of Jordanian descent, around 5’4” with a slim build, with brown eyes and black hair. She attended school in Ontario and may have been a student at Fanshawe College.

Hasan was 26 years old when she was last seen alive in the fall of 2006 at her family’s home in Flamborough.

In February 2015 she was reported missing by her family, nine years after they last saw her. Police are now suspecting foul play and believe her body is on the property.

The property is 55 acres and has been abandoned for years. It belonged to Hasan's family until this March, when it was sold.

Neighbours in the area say that they knew of the family, but didn't know much about them.

"They were here for a few years. They did have a vegetable stand at the end of the driveway for a bit," said Randy Gray, a neighbour.

The new owner took possession of the house on Oct. 14 and doesn’t know the Hasans. He has been cooperative with the investigation.

Police will remain on scene over the weekend. Cadaver dogs along with diggers will arrive on Monday to continue with the investigation.
