Two people were injured as a result of a crash in Kitchener’s south end, Waterloo Regional Police say.

The crash happened just after 9 a.m. Wednesday at Homer Watson Boulevard and Pioneer Drive.

According to police, a pickup truck ran a red light and crashed into the driver’s side of a second vehicle.

Both people inside the second vehicle – an elderly couple – were reported injured, including the 76-year-old male driver, who suffered head injuries.

The driver of the pickup faces careless driving charges.

Homer Watson’s northbound lanes remained closed until 11:10 a.m.
