At the height of Friday morning’s rush hour a dump truck flipped, spilling its load of soil across the Expressway.

The crash occurred just before 8 a.m. when a dump truck driver lost control of his vehicle as he approached the Ottawa Street exit.

The truck flipped onto its side and slid along the highway, filling the two right lanes and shoulder with dirt.

Firefighters were called out to deal with a large fuel spill that resulted from the incident.

Traffic was backed up for kilometers after the crash, at one point stretching beyond the Fischer Hallman Road interchange.

OPP are investigating but there is still no word on what caused the crash or whether charges will be laid against the driver.
