Perth County OPP has charged a 36-year-old woman with impersonating at nurse at a long-term care facility in Mitchell, Ont.

Eva Donna Okello of Etobicoke, Ont. is facing one charge of ‘personation with intent - intent to gain advantage.'

An investigation found she worked one 12-hour shift at the Ritz Lutheran Villa as a registered nurse under a false name.

Concerns arose after Stratford police stopped the accused under the Highway Traffic Act on Saturday. She now faces two charges under the act.

Local police then became suspicious about the name she provided and asked the OPP to become involved in the investigation.

Staff at the long-term care home says they're checking to ensure the safety of their residents was not compromised over the weekend.

There are 85 residents at the facility and administrators say at this point there is no indication of any issues.

An internal investigation is ongoing into how the woman was allowed to work there.

Okello is being held in custody and is scheduled to make a court appearance in Stratford on March 20.
