Homicide Investigators are taking over the search for a missing Kitchener woman.

Catherine Todd, 48, was last heard from on Monday evening. It was Thursday when a friend reported Todd missing.

Inspector Kevin Thaler says " An acquaintance became concerned came to her house or apartment and recognized that is unusual for her like a time to be out of contact."

Now 25 officers are now on this case including 10 from the homicide branch. All of them are trying to solve Todds’ disappearance.

Nearby resident Christina Keleher says “It was a shock coming home and finding 9 cruisers on the road and cops everywhere”

Friday night Waterloo Regional Police did a forensic search and investigation of her 2nd floor apartment, what they found in her home has lead police suspect foul play.

Those who knew her are hoping for a safe return.

The building superintendent, Otto Kraus says, “I hope she comes back safe and sound”

Todd is described as being a white female, approx. 5'1", 115 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Kraus says “Everybody's worried now what's happening a lot of people tell me it doesn't feel that safe here anymore.”

Police are now looking into reports of a pickup truck seen leaving her home on Tuesday or Wednesday Morning around 9:00 am.

Investigators are also looking for a small cream coloured love seat that may be covered with a sheet or blanket, reported missing from Todd's apartment.
