GREY HIGHLANDS, Ont. -- Ontario Provincial Police say one person is dead after a van collided with a horse-drawn carriage north of Orangeville.

Police say the minivan and the carriage collided Sunday morning on Highway 10.

The carriage was carrying nine people, one of whom has died.

Police and paramedics have not released any information about the victim.

A second person in the carriage was air-lifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Air Ornge says there were six patients who needed help, including a young child.

It says the two people in the minivan were also hurt, but their injuries are not serious.
