LEAMINGTON, Ont. - Provincial police say the bodies of three people missing following a boat collision near the Leamington Marina have been recovered.

The collision occurred in Lake Erie about 500 metres from the marina just before 11 p.m. on Sunday.

Police located two women who informed them they were involved in a boating crash and that three people were unaccounted for.

The police marine unit, assisted by the Leamington Fire Department and Canadian Coast Guard were unable to locate the missing people Sunday night.

Provincial police began searching the area Monday and located the bodies of two men and a woman.

Police say an investigation is continuing and they are withholding the names of the three victims pending next-of-kin notification.
