Police have found the remains of a young child in Oshweken. This after an extensive search for 2-year-old Marrisa Whalen.  Police believe she was murdered, their search has led them to the Six Nations Reserve near Brantford.

Police believe the remains are of 2-year-old Marissa Whalen who was reported missing last weekend, but according to investigators she was likely missing for months.  Friends of Marissa Whalen have gathered in Chippawa to search areas where Marissa was last seen.

Over the weekend part of the Third Line in Oshweken is closed for the investigation. Niagara Regional Police and the Six Nations Police service have been investigating.

28-year-old Rainbow E. Hill is charged with second degree murder. The toddler's mother Roseanne Whalen also faces a list of charges including criminal negligence causing death and indignity to human remains.

Police say the two accused are friends.
