Police in Chatsworth Township, south of Owen Sound, say they’ve contained an area around a rural residence as they deal with a man barricaded inside.
Grey County OPP say they were called to Gore Crescent, north of Holland Centre, around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.
They say they had received information about a man barricaded inside the home, claiming to have a firearm.
Before police were called, they say, two other people were able to leave the residence without incident.
Police said at 5:30 p.m. that they had not been able to communicate with the barricaded man for “several hours.”
There was no danger to public safety due to the incident, police said, but people were being asked to stay away from Gore Crescent.
