A pedestrian was struck by an ION train Sunday afternoon in downtown Kitchener.

Paramedics were called to Central Station, at the intersection of King Street West and Victoria Street, around 2 p.m.

Waterloo regional police say a male has non-life-threatening injuries.

LRT service was initially suspended between Grand River Hospital Station and Kitchener Market Station, but resumed shortly before 3 p.m.

This incident comes one day after a transport truck hit an ION train in Waterloo.

Police said no one was hurt in that crash and the truck driver was charged with making an unsafe turn.
