Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a robbery that they say happened Friday night at Bart's Gas Bar on Wellington Road in Central Elgin Township.

Police say around 7:30 pm on Friday November 11th a woman entered the store pulled out what appeared to be long kitchen knife and demanded money. The male store clerk, who was uninjured in the incident, handed over a small amount of cash. The female then departed the gas bar heading south on Wellington Rd. towards the City of St. Thomas in a red or burgundy mini van. Police have released her photo to the media for the public's assistance in locating the woman.

SUSPECT DETAILS:

  • Age: Late teens, early 20's
  • Height: 5'8"
  • Weight: 150-160lbs
  • Apperance: Dark brown hair, up in French twist, bangs & glasses
  • Clothes: Plaid hooded jacket (zippered) with what appeared to be a wide strapped tank top underneath
  • blue jeans & white runners

SUSPECT VEHICLE:

  • Red/burgundy
  • Mini van possibly an older Dodge Caravan
  • Missing driver side front hub cap
  • Possible partial Ontario marker of "BM"
