Two southwestern Ontario athletes are back in Canada after winning medals at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India.

Josh Cassidy of Guelph won bronze in the 1,500-metre wheelchair race at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium.

The 25-year old was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, cancer of the spine and abdomen, just weeks after he was born.

At 15, he took up wheelchair racing.

While Cassidy says he could and should have placed second, he's "on a high from the competition, and can't wait to compete again."

Meanwhile there was a hero's welcome for Jamie Adjetey-Nelson in Windsor.

Adjetey-Nelson walked away with the gold medal after a gruelling two day, ten-event performance in the decathlon at the Games.

The 26-year old is looking forward to participating in the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
