Waterloo Regional Police are asking the public help for identifying a man who approached a group of children in Waterloo and allegedly touched one of them.

According to police, the incident happened near the creek off Parkside Drive, behind Sunnydale Place.

Around 5:30 p.m. Monday, police say, a man approached the group and spoke with one of the children, a girl.

He then allegedly moved closer to the girl and was seen touching her, at which point the children left the area and police were notified.

A search of the area failed to turn up the suspect, who police describe as a white man, six feet to 6’2” tall and in his 20s, with a medium build, light brown curly hair and no facial hair, blue jeans and a dark shirt.
