A drive along the border of Kitchener and Waterloo just got a little bit less seamless.
An expected six-week closure of King and Union streets began Monday morning.
The suggested detour for traffic that would normally use the intersection to get to Grand River Hospital is along Park, Green and King streets.
King also remains closed a few blocks west, at Allen Street, to most traffic. Vehicles driving on King are able to make westbound turns onto Allen.
Next week, King will be closed for construction between William and Erb streets in uptown Waterloo for an expected nine months.
Back in Kitchener, King remains closed between Victoria and Wellington streets as crews build a new rail bridge and underpass. That closure is expected to continue for most of 2016.
