It’s been more than two months since a man was fatally shot during an altercation with police officers at Guelph General Hospital.
The hospital has announced it will be beefing up security, initiating a job loss to current staff members.
According to officials, one full time job will be scrapped along with nine part time positions.
The hospital says there has been an increase of violence and aggression towards staff over the years and on May 20th, Brandon Duncan was killed inside Guelph General.
Officials will not connect the new measures with the shooting, but say more security is needed. In order to make that happen, they had to look for cuts elsewhere.
Those cuts will come into effect on September 8th.
