Two years after a Plattsville man was killed in Afghanistan, his family, friends and community continue to keep his memory alive.

Private Tyler William Todd served in the Delta Company of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry. He was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan on April 11th, 2010.

On Friday, Todd's family and friends hosted the second annual 3-on-3 Memorial Hockey Tournament in his honour. Organizers say 140 players signed up to participate. The continued support has served as a reminder to Todd's family that they aren't mourning alone. "There's a lot of people who didn't really know him," says Todd's sister Jenna. "It's very overwhelming."

Money raised at the event supports Wounded Warriors, a charity that helps injured soldiers and veterans deal with the physical and mental challenges of war.

Walter Gretzky, the father of hockey great Wayne Gretzky, told CTV that he was making an appearance at the tournament to support Canada's soldiers. As the son of a WWI veteran, he says he's grateful for the sacrifices of soldiers like Todd.

Todd's family and friends say they're grateful for the continued support of the community.
