Guelph General Hospital is reporting that an elderly patient died over the weekend after contracting the C. difficile earlier this month while in hospital.
The death brings the total number at the hospital connected to the illness to four.
One new hospital-acquired illness has also been identified, bringing the number of cases currently at the hospital to seven.
Increased infection control measures remain in place at the hospital, including additional cleaning and greeters to provide information as people arrive.
