More C. difficile cases at Guelph General Hospital

Two new cases of the C. difficile illness have been reported at Guelph General Hospital after an outbreak was declared earlier this week.

The new cases bring the total to 13 since early May.

Meanwhile, the federal government has sent a disease specialist to Ontario to investigate as the provincial death toll climbs.

At least 10 hospitals across the province have declared outbreaks, with the Niagara Region the hardest hit.
