Charges are pending in a crash between a Grand River Transit bus and a van in Waterloo.

The crash sent four people to hospital, and left the eastbound lanes of University Avenue closed for around two hours early Sunday afternoon near the ramp to Highway 85.

A Ford van that was involved in the crash came to a rest off the roadway in a lightly wooded area after colliding with a bus.

The driver of the van, a 36-year-old woman from Cambridge, along with her daughter were taken to hospital.

Two people on the GRT bus, a Kitchener man and his daughter, were also taken to hospital for what police described as minor injuries.
