Forensic anthropologists have wrapped up their investigation at the St. Clements-area home previously owned by a man accused of killing his wife and stepdaughter.
Waterloo Regional Police confirmed Monday that the on-site investigation at 3670 Hessen Strasse had come to an end.
The home on that property had been owned by Glenn Bauman, who is currently behind bars after being arrested on two counts of first-degree murder.
Police allege that he killed his common-law wife Linda Daniel and her teenage daughter Cheyenne.
In July 2011, all three were living together at the home in Hessen Strasse. The Daniels have not been seen since that time, while Bauman eventually moved to Alberta.
Bauman’s lawyer has said that his client plans to plead not guilty.
More information about the activity at Hessen Strasse is expected to be made public later this week, police say.
Despite the forensic work being complete, police expect to hold the site until Sept. 23 – the final day of the 30-day search warrant they were granted for the property.
“There are some other logistics to work out with the current property owners, to prepare the residence to get it back to the condition it was in,” said Insp. Michael Haffner.
The home’s current residents have been displaced since police executed their search warrant in late August.
