A G2 driver has been charged after going 110km over the speed limit in Kitchener Sunday morning.

According to a social media post by Waterloo Regional Police, the driver was clocked at 180 kilometres per hour in a 70 kilometres per hour zone. Police say officers stopped the driver on Homer Watson Boulevard.

The driver told police they were on their way to the mall before they were stopped.

The G2 driver is being charged with two counts of stunt driving, speeding and careless driving.
