Highway 26 is expected to remain closed east of Owen Sound for much of the day following a fatal crash.
According to Grey County OPP, a tractor-trailer and passenger vehicle collided on the highway around 8 a.m.
They say the passenger vehicle had crossed over to the other side the road, and hit the tractor-trailer head-on.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was extricated from the vehicle and taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police have identified him as Eric Westholm, a 61-year-old man from Owen Sound.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
Highway 26 was expected to remain closed between Grey Road 5 and Grey Road 11 for some time, police said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
