Ron Cyr told the court on Tuesday that he was sexually assaulted when he was young and that he shared that with the woman he was seeing when his wife was killed.

Cyr, Nashat Qahwash and Zdenek ‘Dennis' Zvolensky are charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of Cyr's wife, Nadia Gehl.

In his eighth and final day of testimony, Cyr testified he was assaulted when he was young and living in New Brunswick.

He said he confided in his mistress, Michelle Brown, after she told him she'd also been molested at an early age.

The Crown alleges Cyr is the one who planned the murder while he was having the affair, enlisting the other two suspects.

All three accused have denied involvement in the shooting, and pointed the finger at each other.

There was also more evidence presented regarding earlier questioning about a text message Cyr sent to Zvolensky the day before the murder regarding an alleged basketball game.

In it Cyr asked if Zvolensky could play ball on Tuesday, and that the game was at 8:40. That is about the time Gehl was killed.

The Crown has alleged it was code for when Gehl would leave her house, and produced an email sent to Cyr outlining the basketball schedule.

There was no game on the date in question.

Cyr said he couldn't remember if he looked at the schedule but he could remember there was a game that day.
