A 36-year-old man faces a number of charges after allegedly using stolen identification to borrow DVDs from the Guelph Public Library.

Guelph Police say they were checking on the man’s well being Tuesday afternoon, at the Old Quebec Street Mall, when they found ID cards in his possession that had previously been reported stolen.

The man was taken into custody, after which police allegedly found a wallet which had been reported stolen from a city restaurant a few days earlier.

Brandon Duncan, a Guelph resident, is charged with two counts apiece of theft and identity theft, as well as various other offences relating to possession of stolen identification and breach of probation.
