The body of a Hamilton man was found Saturday evening, after he’d gone missing while swimming in Lake Erie at Long Point Provincial Park.
OPP say 19-year-old Hussein Da Silva was last seen around 4:15 p.m. where he failed to resurface from the water after going under.
Police say he had been swimming with two friends.
The Coast Guard along with their Hercules aircraft assisted in the search, but was called off due to poor weather conditions, according to a police release.
Shortly after 7 p.m., to men walking along the shoreline found Da Silva in the water and brought him back to shore.
CPR was attempted but he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
This is the second drowning in Lake Erie in as many days.
On Thursday 45-year-old Tracy Quinlan of Niagara, Ont., went underwater while swimming with a friend.
She was taken to hospital and airlifted to a Toronto hospital where she later died.
