A 36-year-old man from Kitchener has been charged with attempted murder, after emergency crews responded to reports of an injured woman in an apartment building on Chandler Drive in Kitchener.
Emergency crews arrived around 12:30 a.m. early Friday morning, and transported the woman to Grand River Hospital. She suffered several serious injuries and remains in hospital.
A man who also lives in the apartment was located, brought in for questioning and arrested. He is scheduled for a court appearance today.
The name of the man arrested has not yet been released.
Police have set up a command post on Chandler Drive, where detectives are speaking with neighbours and gathering information. They say the investigation is continuing.
