Police investigating shooting at Waterloo business

Share

Waterloo Regional Police are looking to identify a person in connection to a weekend shooting inside a Waterloo business.

Police were called to the King Street North and University Avenue West area around 11 p.m. Saturday.

“Officers determined that a disturbance had taken place inside a business and shots had been fired,” public information officer Const. Brad Hickey told CTV News.

“There were no reported injuries as a result of this shooting incident.”

People working at nearby businesses said they felt shaken up Sunday morning.

“We definitely feel a little bit unsafe this morning for sure, because it's not the first time that instances like this have happened in the area. And yes, it's a little nerve wracking that it happened so close to where we're located and where we work,” Perfect Image Studio employee Katie Canzanese said.

“I feel like we probably discussed different things that we could probably put into place to make us feel safer. But I think right now we're just going to continue what we're doing until we have that discussion and figure out what to do,” Canzanese said.

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
