Police looking for victims and witnesses after LRT assaults

Waterloo regional police want to speak to victims and witnesses after police said at least two people were sexually assaulted on an LRT train in Kitchener.

The first alleged incident happened on February 28 around 2:15 p.m. Police were told a victim was riding the train near Fairview Park Mall when they were sexually assaulted by a male.

Another person was also allegedly sexually assaulted by a male while riding the ION in the same area on May 22 around 9:30 p.m.

The assaults were reported to police by a witness and investigators are still trying to identify the victims.

Anyone with more information is urged to contact police.
