Police say they have found the jacket of a Cambridge man who has been missing for a week, but are still searching the area for the 28-year-old.

The down-filled jacket was discovered by police late Thursday evening in the Mill Creek area of Cambridge's Galt district. Firefighters had been out searching nearby areas and waterways since Friday morning.

Sitthideth Insixiengmay was last seen on Jan. 15 when his family says he left him home to go buy cigarettes and never returned.

They have been putting up posters throughout the neighbourhood and contacting his friends, hoping he is somewhere safe and unharmed.

Insixiengmay is described as male, Asian, 5'6", 130 lbs with short, spiked black hair. He was last seen wearing a down-filled Tommy Hilfiger brand jacket, which has three horizontal stripes that are red, green and gold in colour.

Anyone who may have information about his whereabouts is asked to call police at 519-653-7700 Ext. 2298.
