Dozens of people were in attendance at Waterloo Council Monday night expressing their uncertainty about a proposed Muslim spiritual centre at 510 Erbsville Road.

The Muslim Association of Canada owns the land and wants to re-zone it from agricultural land to industrial and green space.

By re-zoning the land, the group say they can use it for spiritual activity, with the goal of building a community centre in the future. Currently there is a building on the land that the association uses.

Neighbours are worried that the plan is too vague, and some are concerned that it will increase traffic and noise in the area.
