Brantford police have released the names of two suspects and the charges they face after the SIU had to be called in for an incident at a West Street plaza.
Around 2 p.m. on Tuesday officers in marked cruisers approached a vehicle in a parking lot at 325 West Street.
There was a an interaction and the vehicle attempted to flee. Police fired a gun at a suspect vehicle as it approached an officer.
The female passenger was injured as the vehicle attempted to flee the parking lot, and the Special Investigations Unit was contacted.
The male driver and female passenger were both arrested a short time later.
Richard Arthur Bomberry, 25, and Hillary Robertson, 22, both of Charing Cross Street in Brantford, face a number of charges.
Bomberry is charged with cocaine trafficking, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of marijuana, possession of property obtained by crime, two counts of breach of probation, dangerous operation of a vehicle, flight from police, failing to remain at the scene of an accident and criminal negligence causing bodily harm.
Robertson faces charges including; cocaine trafficking, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of marijuana and disobeying a court order.
Both remain in custody and the SIU is continuing their investigation into the incident.
