Andrew Cherewka, 20, of Norfolk, Ont. faces alcohol-related charges following a crash that killed his 20-year-old passenger last week.
According to police, around 3 a.m. on Friday, a westbound car went off the road and struck a tree on Brant Highway 53, west of Middletownline Road.
Twenty-year-old Sheldon Howell was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Cherewka faces with two alcohol-related charges including impaired driving causing death.
He is expected to appear in a Brantford court on June 9.
