A ruptured feeder gas line appears to have been the cause of a fatal house explosion in east Windsor.

Back in March, a home at 1070 Esdras Avenue exploded, killing homeowner Ron Nelson.

The Ontario Fire Marshal has now wrapped up its investigation but the Technical Standard and Safety Authority, Ontario Ministry of Labour and Windsor police continue to investigate.

Staff Sergeant Jerry Corriveau with the Windsor police arson unit says when the feeder line ruptured, natural gas escaped making its way through the soil and into Nelson's home.

What caused that rupture hasn't been determined.
