Brantford Police are investigating a collision which left one woman in hospital.

Police say they were called to a plaza on Stanley Street shortly after 3 a.m. Friday, by somebody in the area who noticed a damaged vehicle in the plaza’s parking lot.

Inside the vehicle, police found an unresponsive 40-year-old woman. She was taken to hospital, where she remained as of Friday afternoon.

It is believed that her vehicle hit a support beam and mailbox at the plaza before coming to rest in the parking lot.

Police continue to investigate, but say alcohol is believed to be a factor in the incident.
