Wellington County OPP say a gun was pointed at some of their officers during an incident in Mount Forest over the weekend.
Early Saturday morning, police were called to a home on Wellington Street East.
They were dispatched to check on the condition of a man who had earlier been involved at an altercation at a business in the community.
The man opened his door to the officers, allegedly pointing a gun at them as he did so.
Police say the man “quickly” put the gun down, and was then taken into custody, at which point a second weapon was allegedly found on him.
A woman inside the home claimed that the man had also pointed a gun at her.
A 47-year-old man is charged with three counts of pointing a firearm, two counts of assaulting a peace officer with a weapon, and one county apiece of carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
