A 47-year-old Woolwich Township man was involved in a crash with a Via Rail train on Monday afternoon.

The man was driving an SUV on Wuster Place near Breslau when he approached the railroad tracks.

The SUV stopped before the tracks, but it was struck by the train as it passed. The front bumper was torn from the SUV, and the hood was damaged.

The driver was uninjured.

The train applied its emergency brakes, and stopped a short distance away. There was no damage to the train, but it was delayed until a new crew arrived.

Police are still investigating.
